Letter from the Executive Director
The NAIOP Research Foundation’s research projects, educational programs and outreach activities have a united purpose: to support developers, owners and others involved in commercial real estate to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of our communities, now and in the future.
In 2024, the Foundation had another productive and collaborative year, as highlighted by the figures presented below. This report serves as a summary of the Foundation’s activities in 2024, while also looking ahead to the important research and initiatives planned for 2025.
In 2024:
- Ten research reports were published focusing on development initiatives across North America.
- Eight Governors pledged financial commitments to support the Foundation’s work.
- Twenty Visionaries, the largest cohort to date, participated in the program.
- Fourteen Distinguished Fellows provided research insights.
- Fourteen National Research Directors advised on trends and co-authored reports.
- The endowment reached $2.5 million.
- Governors pledged $48,000 in Sustainers’ Fund contributions.
- Renewal contributions totaled $230,000.

I would like to express my gratitude for Jean Kane’s leadership and the contributions of her fellow trustees: Lewis Agnew, Tracy Allen, Frank Baird, Collin Barr, Bilijack Bell, Kate Nolan Bryden, Molly Carson, David Grissom, and Lex Rickenbaker. The Foundation has experienced tremendous growth over the past 25 years, and we look forward to celebrating our accomplishments with you throughout the coming year.
