NAIOP Launches Detroit Chapter

February 10, 2025 | Washington, D.C.

NAIOP’s board of directors officially approved the newest chapter in Detroit during their meeting last week, held during NAIOP’s annual Chapter Leadership & Legislative Retreat in Washington, D.C.

NAIOP Detroit brings together developers, owners and related professionals in office, industrial, retail, multifamily and mixed-use real estate. The chapter's mission is to provide valuable connections and advocate for state and municipal issues that impact the commercial real estate industry, including property taxes, affordable housing and infrastructure.

More than 90 market CRE leaders attended the kick-off event on Thursday, Feb. 13, hosted in Bedrock’s newly renovated The Book event space on the 13th floor of Book Tower in Detroit. The event keynote offered thoughtful insights on national and local economic development in today's political climate, and the need for developers to operate with a unified voice in a highly regulated industry. NAIOP President and CEO Marc Selvitelli attended the event to welcome our newest chapter and share more about NAIOP and the association’s mission.

NAIOP is the leading association for commercial real estate, with more than 21,000 members and an extensive network of more than 50 chapters across North America representing the interests of commercial real estate developers and owners.

To submit contact information on colleagues and connections recommended for membership in this new chapter, submit them online or contact David Edwards, NAIOP vice president for membership and chapter relations.
