The K Street corridor of Washington D.C. was once bustling with lawyers, lobbyists, and government staff -- but now abundant office space is unleased, reports Washington, D.C.-based WJLA, and ABC affiliate in a series of stories.
The report says that, “According to CBRE Group Inc and JLL, two of the world's largest commercial real estate firms, nearly a quarter of all office space in D.C. is empty. Between April 2024 and June 2024 alone, more than half a million square feet of office space was vacated, a record high for the capital.”
NAIOP CEO Marc Selvitelli shared an outlook on the future of office space and how companies are adapting to new uses and potential redevelopment, offering new opportunities for older space.
