President of Burns Scalo Real Estate will lead NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association

NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, has named Brian Walker as its 2024 Chair of the Board. In this role, NAIOP’s highest elected position, Walker will lead the association’s strategies for education, legislative affairs, membership growth and beyond, helping advance NAIOP and serve its more than 21,000 members across North America.
“Brian will provide the forward-looking perspective of an enterprising strategist with extensive experience in commercial real estate,” said Marc Selvitelli, CAE, NAIOP president and CEO. “He is a dynamic and passionate leader who recognizes the value of bringing together people from different sectors of the industry and across our powerful chapter network. Our Board of Directors, chapters and staff look forward to all we’ll accomplish under his leadership.”
Walker is president of Burns Scalo Real Estate, where he leads the organization's high-growth-focused mission with an eye on national exposure and expansion. One of the largest fully integrated professional real estate firms in Western Pennsylvania, Burns Scalo has subsidiaries specializing in investment, brokerage, development, construction, and management of more than five million square feet of commercial real estate assets.

A 19-year member of NAIOP, Walker has served on the Corporate board and has been active in NAIOP Pittsburgh. Prior to joining Burns Scalo, Walker served as chief financial officer and executive vice president with Piatt Companies, formerly known as Millcraft Investments, for nearly 18 years. He is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Walker accepted the position during the traditional passing of the gavel from 2023 Chair Kim Snyder, Prologis, at NAIOP’s fall 2023 meeting.
