Andrew Armstrong is the chief operating officer of Scout Cold Logistics overseeing the day-to-day operational functions for the Company’s real assets across the United States. He is overall responsible for the asset management of the firm’s existing portfolio as well as new investment activities. Andrew brings 19 years of real estate, infrastructure, private equity, M&A and capital markets experience to the firm.
Prior to joining Scout, Andrew served as managing director and head of corporate strategy for New Senior Investment Group (NYSE: SNR), a publicly traded REIT with a diversified portfolio of 103 senior housing properties across 36 states. Previously, Andrew spent 11 years in private equity at Fortress Investment Group, where he was a managing director focused on various investments across the real estate, infrastructure, transportation and leisure sectors.
Jeremy Bentley, NCARB, is an experienced architect with over 20 years of industry knowledge in the cold storage and food/beverage processing sector. For the last 18 years, Jeremy has played a key role at United Insulated Structures (UIS), a national design and build firm specializing in cold storage and food processing facilities. As the director of architecture, he has doubled the size of the architecture and engineering team.
A decade ago, Jeremy propelled UIS into Building Information Modeling (BIM) using Revit software. And to keep up with the ever-growing technological advancements and the insatiable desire of the world to provide more/faster, Jeremy has been instrumental in transitioning the company with modern innovations of VR (Virtual Reality), AR (Augmented Reality) and the use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) in his practice.
Vince Clark serves as a director on the U.S. investment team in Madison International Realty’s New York City office. His primary responsibilities include investment sourcing, underwriting and transaction structuring for Madison’s direct secondaries strategy, as well as the firm’s growth capital vehicles. He received a master’s in real estate finance from Cornell University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
Chris Copenhaver is a member of Cushman & Wakefield’s industrial and logistics service line and co-lead of the company's food and beverage advisory group, specializing in representing owners and occupiers of industrial real estate with a concentration in food production and refrigerated distribution centers. He leverages Cushman & Wakefield’s real estate services platform and the food and beverage advisory team to execute client requirements throughout the U.S. in primary and secondary markets.
Marc Duval is a senior managing director in the New Jersey office of JLL Capital Markets, Americas. He joined JLL as part of the HFF acquisition and has more than 15 years of experience in commercial real estate. Marc specializes in industrial investment advisory throughout New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut, and has been involved in more than $19.9 billion in commercial real estate transactions. Before working at HFF, Marc worked at WCGM as a Real Estate Associate. His primary focus was consulting for banks and institutions in the valuation of commercial real estate. He also focused on extensive market studies for developers of ground-up projects.
Jake Finley founded Karis in 2014 and later Karis Cold in 2019. His vision leads the company while developing the pipeline and entering new markets with a current portfolio excess of $1.5 billion in 10+ markets. Since inception, Karis has developed, acquired, and disposed of over $2.5 billion worth of industrial real estate. With Karis Capital, Jake completed a significant joint-venture with AEW, a private-equity real estate firm which was sold in 2021 for one of the largest IRR’s in AEW’s history. Prior to founding Karis, Jake began his career at the Chicago Board of Trade as a commodities broker, followed by selling overhead doors and dock levelers, and then a real estate broker focusing on logistics-related tenant representation.
Vince Free founded FREEZ Construction in 2019 and is a past-chairman of the Controlled Environment Building Association (CEBA), a member of the NAIOP Cold Storage Development Forum & a member of the I.CON Cold Storage Planning Committee. With 19 years of experience in the cold storage construction space, he worked his way through the industry as a high-speed door supplier, design build general contractor, and a thermal construction expert.
As principal, Sean Gilbert spearheads the origination, evaluation and closing activities for Saxum’s acquisition and joint venture opportunities. He leads Saxum’s cold storage platform, which is among the largest in the country and currently compromises over 3 million square feet nationwide with an additional 1 million square feet under active construction.
Chris Hughes is the co-founder and CEO of Arcadia Cold and has 35 years of supply chain industry experience including 22 years of both commercial and operational executive leadership within the third-party global cold storage industry.
Chris co-founded Agro Merchants Group and led all company start-up activities and M&A deal sourcing for the North and South American business units. The team successfully exited to Americold Realty Trust in 2020 for $1.749Bn (22.3x) after growing it to the 4th largest cold chain provider in the world with assets and operations across the U.S., Europe and South America.
Throughout his cold storage career, Chris has been an active member of the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW), the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA), and a teaching resource for the World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO). Additionally, he has served as both a strategic advisor and board member for three U.S. based cold storage companies.
West is the president and CEO of Vertical Cold Storage and leads a team of cold storage veterans focused on growing a North American network focused on embracing the complex needs of the temperature-controlled supply chain. Vertical is backed by Platform Ventures and together they have grown to 10 sites in three years through M&A, in-house greenfield development and expansion of existing facilities.
West started his career at Americold, where he spent 21 years in warehouse and transportation operations, business development, customer service and IT. After Americold’s successful IPO, West joined Emergent Cold as partner and COO, where the team purchased eight companies with 46 sites in six countries before selling to Lineage after just two years. After the sale, West worked with Lineage and Bay Grove on 75 acquisitions in two-and-a-half years.
Michael Jones, AIA, has dedicated his career to providing design solutions to cold storage design-build projects. As president of Primus Design Services, he is involved in every aspect of the design process, from preliminary design and programming to construction administration and field observations. He has led the growth of Primus Design Services beyond architecture to include structural, mechanical and electrical engineering; sustainability program management; and the implementation of Revit, Assemble, Navisworks and other Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
Josh Lewis serves as partner and chief operating officer at RL Cold. Over the last 3 years at RL Cold, he has successfully deployed over $700 million dollars in cold storage projects. He is an avid supporter of 4KenyasKids, a nonprofit focused on the support of comprehensive care to orphans and other vulnerable kids in Kenya.
Scott McGarity leads the Industrial division of Barber Partners, LLC. Barber Partners is leveraging Scott's 30 years of multi-market experience, relationships, and performance to develop, lease and manage the company’s industrial property portfolio. The current focus is building out cold storage warehouses throughout the U.S.
Over the years, Scott has represented and partnered with institutional and private capital investors in various capacities: leasing, development, fund management and acquisitions/dispositions totaling more than 16 million square feet of commercial real estate in five major markets across the southern and midwestern U.S.
Eddie is heavily involved with acquisitions, leasing, and dispositions at Provender Partners. He is “front-line” in evaluating and negotiating potential acquisitions and new and renewing leases. Eddie works closely with the finance department in developing financial models and assessing their viability before presenting to senior management and potential investors.
William Nelson is a principal based in BGO’s Los Angeles office and is the deputy portfolio manager for the BGO’s dedicated North American Cold Storage Fund. His responsibilities include formulating investment strategy, sourcing, and structuring investments in the cold storage sector across North America. In this role, Will has been integral in helping BGO raise and deploy over $3 billion dollars into the cold chain over the last 4 years. In addition to his North American investing responsibilities, he is also responsible for portfolio analysis and construction, operational support and asset management oversight.
Gary brings over 25 years of experience in designing and managing large-scale construction projects specifically for the cold storage and food processing industry. As the head of construction at Karis, he oversees all of the company’s construction projects across the United States.
Tim O'Rourke serves as a senior managing director and a team leader for the Industrial Services Group in Los Angeles and is a member of the firm’s Supply Chain and Logistics Solutions Group. As part of the Supply Chain & Logistics Solutions Group, Tim leads the firm’s Food & Beverage practice group which focuses on providing integrated real estate services to occupiers and owners of food related processing, warehouse and distribution facilities.

Cory is senior vice president for Griffco Design/Build Inc. He previously led the business development and growth strategies for FCL Builders nationally. With over 20 years focused on strategic planning and business development for general contractors, architectural and engineering firms, Singer’s efforts since joining FCL builders in 2011 assisted the company in entering the Dallas/Fort Worth, Southeast, West and desert Southwest markets. As vice president of business development and pre-construction, Singer was charged with coordinating the company’s business development, sales and pre-construction efforts.
