Health and Safety Protocols

Updated March 3, 2022.

The safety and well-being of conference attendees are top priorities for NAIOP. For meetings in 2022, NAIOP will follow recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for events and gatherings, working with the host hotel to follow protocols based on current national, local and health advisories and requirements.

If you have been exposed to or tested positive for COVID-19 with 14 days of the event, you are prohibited from attending. Contact us prior to the event to receive a credit for a future event or refund.

If you are on-site and experience illness or COVID-19 symptoms, return to your hotel room and notify NAIOP immediately by emailing Megan Rooney.

If you test positive for COVID-19 up to 14 days after returning home, notify NAIOP immediately.

NAIOP has done its due diligence to follow guidelines and employ preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.  However, NAIOP cannot guarantee that meeting participants, partners, or others in attendance will not become infected with COVID-19.

Face Masks
As of March 1 in Long Beach, masks are now only required if individuals are unvaccinated. The hotel is not asking guests to disclose their vaccination status, but signage is in place around the property stating the updated health order. Masks are optional for fully vaccinated individuals.

Social Distancing
Wherever possible, NAIOP will manage traffic flows to allow for comfortable distancing to enhance the attendee experience, including spacious seating during meal functions and session seating options for varying comfort levels. Use your best judgment in entering crowded or confined areas, such as public hotel spaces, restaurants, restrooms and elevators.

Contact Free and Sanitization
The conference hotel will provide handwashing and sanitizing stations in high-traffic areas, and NAIOP will provide additional hand sanitizers to use throughout the conference.

Hotel
Hotel housekeeping services are provided to guest rooms every third day, or as requested. The hotel is utilizing enhanced technologies, including electrostatic sprayers with hospital-grade disinfectants, to support its already rigorous cleanliness protocols. Bell/Luggage assistance and valet parking services are currently suspended.

Self-indication of Your Comfort Level
Attendees will be asked to indicate their comfort level with personal contact by placing a green, yellow or red sticker on their name badge. Badge distribution will be self-service to minimize person-to-person contact.

Food and Beverage
NAIOP will put measures in place to provide meals and food items in the safest possible way. Hotel staff preparing and serving food items will wear masks and gloves.
