Michael Maxwell is a professor and the interim director of Nova Southeastern University’s Master of Real Estate Development Program at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Mr. Maxwell maintains an active real estate development and advisory firm focused on regenerative development in evolving urban markets. He holds a Master of Planning degree from the University of Virginia and a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. Maxwell’s interests and research are focused in the areas of emerging retail trends and urban revitalization and public/private partnerships. His professional activities encompass the NAIOP South Florida Board of Directors; ULI Florida/Caribbean District Council Executive Committee; ULI Inner City Council; Greater Miami Urban League; and founder of New Urban Development LLC, a not-for-profit affordable housing development company.
