Marie is a senior marketing specialist and a member of the national client leadership team at Kimley-Horn. She partners with project managers on specific national private-sector client strategies across a variety of disciplines, and she helps grow existing national private client relationships and creates opportunities for Kimley-Horn to work with new clients. A natural problem-solver, Purkert is passionate about developing and implementing marketing strategies. She is skilled in analyzing market trends, identifying target audiences, and creating comprehensive marketing plans to achieve business objectives. She has been a member of NAIOP Northern Virginia since 2011 where she actively participates in their committees and programs, donating hundreds of hours to the organization. Purkert was named a NAIOP Research Foundation Visionary in 2020. She is also active in CREW DC and is co-chair of the Professional Development Committee, and has sat on the board of the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance since 2014 as well as its Governance Committee. Purkert received her BA in Communications, Public Relations from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, where she also pursued a MS in Real Estate Development.
