Jonathan Port is an expert in sustainable energy, solar design and sustainable real estate development. He founded Permacity in 2003 and grew the company into a leading solar developer and engineering procurement contractor in the United States, and has more than 300 megawatt of completed solar rooftop and carport experience. Port is also an inventor with 11 issued solar patents including SolarStrap®, a revolutionary advancement in mounting technology for solar PV systems on industrial flat roofs, along with other technologies for solar installation, mounting, wiring, and carport design. Port’s accomplishments include completion of the largest solar roof installation in the world at the time, a two million-square foot installation at a four-building site supplying the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power with 16.4 megawatt of in-basin solar power.
