Owen O’Neil

Lehigh and Northampton Transportation Authority  | Executive Director

Owen O’Neil is the executive director of the Lehigh and Northampton Transportation Authority (LANTA) which is the regional public transportation system serving Lehigh, Northampton and Carbon Counties in Pennsylvania. He has been in the public transportation field for 25 years and has worked with transit agencies across the country either as staff or as a consultant. Since joining LANTA, O’Neil has led the efforts to modernize technology used by LANTA; instituted an ongoing service performance monitoring system to ensure continuous improvement; and worked with the local MPO on efforts to incorporate transit supportive land use practices into local land development. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Saint Michael’s College, and a Masters of Community Planning from the University of Rhode Island.
