Darcie Lunsford is a Senior Vice President at Colliers, a leading global commercial real estate brokerage and services firm and specializes in the representation of landlords in the leasing of office buildings in Palm Beach and Broward counties. Darcie and her team executed more than 200 transactions in the past three years, generating more than $150 million in aggregate lease and sale value on behalf of clients.
Darcie has a proven track record in the lease up, reposition and rebranding of office assets. Among her notable assignments was the full renovation, rebranding and re-tenanting of the largest office tower in northwest Broward, where her team increased occupancy from 20 percent to 90 percent, raising rents by 45 percent. Darcie also oversaw the rapid lease up of the landmark Bank of America building in downtown Pompano Beach, taking occupancy from 50 percent to 92 percent, then sold it at a record capitalization rate for that submarket. She went on to later execute the largest 2023 lease transaction in the Pompano CBD submarket for new ownership, which fully repositioned and renovated the asset as part of a major mixed-use redevelopment, at a record rent.
Darcie was also engaged in the sale, rebranding and re- tenanting of the 1499 West Palmetto Park Road office building in Boca Raton as the 90,000-square-foot asset underwent extensive renovations. In the first phase, Darcie successfully repositioned the asset from a Class C to a Class A building, procuring 75,000 square feet of new high-quality, credit tenants and nearly doubling base rents. Similarly, Darcie led the lease up the 1690 Congress Avenue building in Delray, the office component of the $200 million Parks of Delray mixed-use redevelopment district.
Darcie is on the National Board of Directors for NAIOP, the nation’s largest commercial real estate development association. She is past Chair of the NAIOP Florida PAC and is past president of NAIOP Florida, which sets and executes the legislative/lobbying objectives for Florida’s commercial development industry statewide. Darcie is past president of the NAIOP South Florida chapter and still serves on both the state and local NAIOP board of directors. Darcie’s leasing team won NAIOP South Florida’s Office Sale of the Year for 2020 and the team is a three-time finalist for South Florida Office Brokerage Team of the Year, most recently in 2023.
Prior to becoming an office broker, Darcie spent 22 years as a journalist. Darcie served as real estate editor of the South Florida Business Journal and rose to national president-elect of the Society of Professional Journalists, the nation’s oldest and largest journalism and free press advocacy organization. She is also a two-time, past president of SPJ’s South Florida Pro Chapter.
Darcie spent 14 years covering South Florida real estate and the economy before leaving in 2011 to pursue a career in commercial real estate. Darcie also is a former on-air correspondent for WPLG Local 10 in Miami, WPBF TV- 25 in Palm Beach Gardens and reported business stories for WPTV 5, the NBC station in West Palm Beach. Darcie regularly appeared on WPBT, Miami’s PBS station, as a real estate expert and guest anchor of its public affairs show.
