Janet Rojas Galati currently serves as the Director of Industry Recruitment for Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO), a public agency that promotes economic development and job creation in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. Janet is responsible for business attraction efforts which includes project management and recruitment of new and expanding businesses in JEDCO's Target Industry sectors: Culinary Products, Supply Chain Infrastructure, Healthcare Innovation, Technology & Design, and Environmental and Engineering Services. Anyone that knows Janet, knows her passion for economic and workforce development and how to boost the community's business and overall quality of life.
With a master's degree in public administration and 10+ years of experience working in economic and workforce development for communities from Florida, Pennsylvania, to Louisiana, Janet has gained strong skills in site selection, regulatory assistance, compiling location data, and incentive programs. She has a proven track record of building and leveraging cross-sector partnerships and has written, submitted, and managed successfully federal and state grants. While not always part of the job, Janet has also spearheaded organizing and executing many community engagement events.
She was most recently recognized as one of the 2022 Biz New Orleans Women to Watch and is a 2022 graduate of Leadership Jefferson, a prestigious leadership development program for emerging and established leaders in the parish. Janet also helps lead her local Toastmasters International Club – Lagniappe Club – as the VP of Membership.
