Kelli Herman has built a diverse background within the real estate industry through engagement and connectivity at the local and national level; engaging with unique client types and communities, she has developed an acute ability to listen, connect, and deliver inspiring projects. With a Bachelors in Architecture from Philadelphia University while competing in two sports [basketball and cross country] and a Masters in Energy Conservation in Architecture from University of Arizona, she has an innate understanding of connecting and communicating design intent with the client’s vision. She joined HED in 2021 after 15+ years in similar roles with other firms within in Detroit. Her professional affiliations include Member and Past President of Corporate Real Estate for Women (CREW) – Detroit Chapter, Urban Land Institute (ULI) – Detroit Chapter, Innovating Commerce Serving Communities (ICSC), and Michigan Architectural Foundation (MAF) – Communication and Golf Committees.
Kelli plays an integral part in the holistic blending of the team dynamics; helping to listen and understand the needs of the client, team, and consultant engagement to uncover the abilities and outcomes to shape the future of the project and communities. Listening positions the team to identify client and projects’ needs and wants, which empowers the team to develop into a “trusted advisor” with the ability to influence in a positive way. This is the first step toward shaping culture. Her passion in design and architecture elevates the experience for those who create, collaborate, and ideate in these impactful and transformational spaces.
