Time: 7:30 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.

Add To Calendar

Breakfast will be served until 8 a.m.

The global real estate industry is seeing the emergence of a number of dynamics that have great potential to fundamentally change the business over the next decade. Four trends, in particular, could be game-changing for our industry in the next 10 years.

  • How the sharing economy impacts our society and what it means for CRE.
  • How the last mile phenomenon is changing retail store locations, merchandising and product distribution systems.
  • How disintermediation in brokerage and leasing is likely to impact legacy models for selling, acquiring, locating and leasing real estate.
  • How the war for talent will change corporate and residential space usage and location decisions.
  • How the Internet of Things can help CRE companies build relationships with customers and strenghten tenant engagement.
Jim Eckenrode

In this keynote presentation, James Eckenrode, Executive Director for the Deloitte Center for Financial Services, will explore how technology, demographic and economic trends are coming together to force exponential change in commercial real estate.

These propositions will be explored by discussing subjects such as what the increase in co-working spaces means for office landlords, how the increase in shared driving and other transportation options affects investors’ consideration of their project locations and the unique experiences that multifamily and hotel owners can offer tenants and guests to compete with home-sharing services like Airbnb.
